Our Founder
Late Miss Anubhuti Bose, B.A, B.T, UCTD (Manchester), Dip-in-Ed(Cal), Trained in John Tracy clinic, USA, Ex-Head-in-charge Girls section of Calcutta Deaf and Dumb School, Ex-Lecturer of N.I.H.H. Eastern Circle, and Training Collage for teachers was a noble and dedicated lady. She had spent her full life for the cause of the Hearing Impaired (Deaf) Children. Moving across globe and attending Seminars, giving lectures, reading her papers on the subject at different cities in U.K, USA, Japan, Hongkong etc. She had a penchant to make a school for these children who could be taught in oral language with an objective that they can go to the normal stream of the society after completing their studies in special school and take up higher studies and ultimately stand at their own feet and earn their livings. With this idea in mind and urge to make these H.I Children to speak & become a productive citizen later, she started teaching voluntarily beginning with 2 (two) students only in 1978 in a small car garage in North Kolkata. Her versatile knowledge in the subject and a strong dedication and willpower bore fruit when this institution was born and registered under West Bengal Societies Act in 1985. The school was shifted to its own building in1996, Miss Anubhuti Bose died at the age of 80 on 22nd November 2004. |
